Back in 1921, Giacomo Luigi Terrani, together with his brother Secondo, opened the business “F.lli TERRANI di Antonio” in northern Italy, it was a small roasting company dedicated to the roasting and distribution of quality coffee in Mortara (PV) and in the surrounding area.
The company grew and started to distribute coffee blends and food products to over 3000 bars, cafès and shops in the zone.

In 1927 the PortMoka brand was born, distinguished by a Mexican figure, who soon became a distinctive element of the italian coffee house.
In few years it became one of the most famous brands in northern Italy.

In pochi anni diventa uno dei brand più conosciuti del nord Italia.
In 1961 the PortMoka roastery was born, with one of the first industry machines in the decaffeination market.
Nel 1961 nasce la torrefazione del gruppo con una delle prime macchine nel mercato italiano di decaffeinizzazione.
In 1991 the activity expands with the distribution of all types of coffee blends.
Nel 1991 l’attività si consolida con la distribuzione ai bar di caffè in tutte le sue tipologie.
In 2012 from our passion for quality coffee, the concept of a new Coffee House was born: “Caffè Terra”, whose goal is to be a synonym of taste and refinement, meeting point and spread of the “good coffee” culture.
Nel 2012 dalla passione per il caffè di qualità nasce il Concept di Coffee House “il Caffè della Terra” che si rivolge al consumatore esigente come sinonimo di gusto e raffinatezza, punto di incontro e diffusione della cultura del buon caffè.

For this reason, the Portmoka Academy was born, providing its customers free training for their employees with a room fully equipped with the best equipment and the lessons guides by the Coffee Master, Italian Coffee Trainer AICAF – Espresso Italiano Trainer IIAC, Dario Manazza.
In our internal Coffee Academy, the teacher Dario Manazza, teaches the art of the true Italian espressos and cappuccinos.
